Overview
TandaBuilder requires an audio interface capable of handling two independent stereo audio streams:
- Live Stream: Audio broadcast to the audience
- Pre-listen Stream: Audio for the DJ (monitoring)
This guide helps you choose the right interface and configure it correctly.
🎯 Recommended Interfaces
Important: Headphones typically use the same channels as one of the stereo outputs. They do not constitute an additional independent output.
Focusrite Scarlett
- ✅ Scarlett 4i4: 2 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4) + headphones
- ✅ Scarlett 8i6: 2 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4) + headphones
- ✅ Scarlett 18i8: 2 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4) + headphones
MOTU
- ✅ M4: 2 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4) + headphones
- ✅ M6: 3 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4, 5-6) + headphones
- ✅ UltraLite-mk5: 8 independent stereo outputs + headphones
PreSonus
- ✅ Studio 24c: 2 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4) + headphones
- ✅ Studio 68c: 3 independent stereo outputs (1-2, 3-4, 5-6) + headphones
⚠️ Limited Interfaces
These interfaces can only handle one audio stream. Recommended solution: Use the Mac's headphone output for pre-listening.
- ❌ Scarlett Solo: Mono output only
- ❌ Scarlett 2i2: Single output (no separate routing)
- ❌ MOTU M2: Single output + headphones (same signal)
